Styled Shoot: Stonefields Estate
When Bethany from Grey Loft Studio asked me to participate in a wedding styled shoot, I was thrilled! Stonefields Estate has always been one of my favourite wedding venues, and I was looking forward to designing something a little different and unique.
The Invitations
Alex from Marry On Weddings decided on different shades of pink and burgundy with a touch of gold for the colour palette. I decided to print the main wedding invitation on off white cardstock with blush script font and burgundy touches in the monogram. The RSVP card was printed on blush pink cardstock, still light enough of a colour that guests can write their names in regular black ink when replying. To tie everything together, I used a burgundy envelope and included an off white envelope liner with a custom monogram. I love adding monograms as a personalized touch to your wedding. – it’s perfect to be able to use throughout your entire wedding! Lastly, for more of a rustic approach, we hand tore every card for to create unique deckled edges.
The Tablescape
To keep with the gold theme on the tablescape, we used gold wax seals on each place card with blush pink script font. This paired nicely with the gold cutlery, vintage gold charger plate and gold-rimmed dinner plate.
The tablescape was paired with blush coloured tapered candles on a crystal base, pink wine goblets, ivory cheesecloth napkins, pink velvet table cloth and a large floral arrangement in the middle. There was such a variety of shades of pink incorporated within this table design.
Additional Touches
The monogram was used throughout the wedding stationery, including the personalized menus on each place setting. To further incorporate your monogram in your wedding day, it can be used as custom dance floor decals, on your welcome signage or seating charts, wedding favour tags and thank you cards.
We print a custom love letter in a script font to be used as a background for the engagement ring and wedding bands. It’s such a personalized touch from the couple and a great keepsake – you could also use your vows as well!
The Decor
I love a simple naked cake paired with fresh florals from the wedding. This was a simple 8-inch cake that was turned into a gorgeous cake table! Always remember that your cake table is important to decorate too! Add extra florals, maybe some centrepieces and matching linen.
The rain was on and off all day, it was pouring one minute then sunny the next. We had just enough time for the wedding ceremony and it turned out beautifully! Moe supplied rustic louis chairs and a custom arch with florals. The centrepieces from the table doubled as aisle decor (great cost-saving option). The chapel is very large for a smaller wedding, so it provided such an amazing backdrop for the ceremony!
The Models
To top it all off, since I am newly engaged, Bethany also asked my fiancé and I to model in the shoot! It was such a blast and we felt so comfortable with Bethany and Luc directing. We didn’t want the shoot to end – great practice for our wedding day!
