Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you wanted to know about ordering invitations, stationery, and signage for your wedding
What’s the timeline for sending out wedding invitations?
Save the Dates – 8 to 12 months before your wedding
Wedding Invitations – 3 months before your wedding
Thank You Cards – within 1 to 3 months after your wedding
Do I need to send out save the dates?
If a large portion of your guests are coming from out of town, your wedding is on a long weekend or a day other than Saturday, then yes! This helps your guests plan ahead of time for time off work, hire a babysitter, maybe plan their vacation around your wedding or simply saving to travel. If the majority of your guests are local, it isn’t as necessary, though still appreciated by your guests.
How many invitations and save the dates should I order?
So many clients forget it’s one invitation per household, not one per person! Generally take your number of guests and divide by 2, then add 5 to 10 extras. We highly encourage everything to order at least 5 to 10 extra invitations when placing your order. This accounts for any last-minute additions, a keepsake for you and one for your photographer. We can always print extras if needed, however, they do come with additional fees that can become costly.
When should I place my order for wedding invitations?
We like to start the process of creating your invitations about six months before your wedding. To reserve a date in our calendar, most clients contact us about a year in advance of their wedding. This will reserve a spot in our calendar to ensure we can accommodate your stationery. We know you may change your mind on colours or overall theme, so we won’t start the design or order your paper until six months prior.
What is the process of ordering custom wedding invitations?
The first step is to fill out the contact form with some additional details about your wedding! This helps us get an idea of what you are looking for and the timeline. We will schedule a phone call or virtual meeting to go over the overall design and feel of your wedding. From there, I will send over a proposal, contract, and invoice for a 50% non-refundable deposit to reserve the date and our services. We will then work together on the design to come up with something that perfectly fits you and your overall vision for your wedding. Once everything is approved, we begin the production!
I don’t know what I’m looking for! Can you still help?
Absolutely! We have tons of samples that we can review on what you do and don’t like, as well as speaking on the overall vision for your wedding. We will walk you through step by step on all the details and ask you a bunch of questions. From there we can come up with something unique for your wedding invitation suite. If you have a Pinterest board of what you like as inspiration, that’s always appreciated to send over ahead of time.
When should I order my wedding signage and day of stationery?
We do require at least six weeks to complete all your artwork and print. However, if you need a rush order, don’t hesitate to send us an email and we will try our best to make it work!
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, we do! We understand that wedding expenses really add up. Our standard payment plan is 50% non-refundable deposit, with the remaining balance due before sending to print. We are happy to work together to create a payment plan that fits within your budget!
Are stamps included in the pricing?
In our standard packages, stamps are not included as we generally don’t mail the invitations on our client’s behalf. Please keep in mind that depending on the weight of your invitation suite, additional stamps may be required. If you wish for us to do full assembly, we are happy to add stamps into your quote.
